Microsoft introduces Mythic Achievements for Xbox players to recognize completed game collections
Microsoft has officially unveiled Mythic Achievements, a new feature for Xbox users currently available to testers. Functioning similarly to PlayStation Platinum trophies, these awards are granted automatically once a player has earned every original achievement for a specific game, including titles originally released for the Xbox 360 console.
The Verge reports that Microsoft is rolling out this system to recognize players who fully complete their game libraries. According to the Xbox team, these achievements are retroactive, meaning players may find that games they finished years ago have already attained Mythic status upon checking their profiles. This update aims to provide a clearer sense of completion for dedicated gamers, mirroring the long-standing trophy structure found on competing platforms.
Beyond the new awards, the company plans to introduce a dedicated gaming tab on Xbox profiles. This interface will allow users to monitor their progress toward various Gamerscore milestones alongside their new Mythic status. While currently limited to Xbox Insiders, the feature represents a significant shift in how the platform tracks and celebrates total game mastery across its historical catalog.
