Privacy

Intellect is built to know as little about you as possible. The data controller is [legal entity name to be added]. Contact: [email protected].

Using the app without an account

• No account needed. You can read everything without signing up.
• Your reading history stays on your phone. Alice, the part of the app that picks your next card, runs on your device. What you read, for how long, and what you heart are stored only there.
• Downloading cards. The app fetches batches of cards from our servers. These requests don't identify you. Like any web request they reveal your IP address, which our providers keep briefly in security logs.
• No ads and no advertising trackers.

Analytics (only if you say yes)

The app asks whether you'll share anonymous usage statistics, and nothing is collected unless you agree. If you agree, we use Google Analytics for Firebase to count things like cards viewed and which topics are read. We never send card text, and we don't use advertising identifiers. You can change your choice at any time in the app's settings.

Optional account

If you choose to create an account (with Apple, Google or an email link), we use Firebase Authentication (Google) to keep your sign-in, and store your email address and account identifier. This unlocks member features such as keeping your hearts across devices. You can delete your account in the app; this removes your sign-in record.

Newsletter

If you join, we store your email address, when you joined, the wording you agreed to, and when you confirmed. Nothing is sent until you click the link in our confirmation email. Emails come from [email protected], and each one has a one-click unsubscribe. To limit abuse we keep a salted hash of your IP address, never the address itself.

Contact form

Messages you send us (name, email, topic and message) are stored and emailed to our team so we can reply. We delete them when they're no longer needed.

The website and web app

The web version keeps your hearts and reading position in your browser's local storage. Clearing your browser data removes them, and nothing is sent to us.

Who processes data for us

• Cloudflare: network security and delivery for our domains.
• IONOS: website hosting, email and the website database (UK/EU).
• Hetzner: our application servers (EU).
• Google (Firebase): analytics you opt into, and optional sign-in.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can object to processing. Email [email protected]. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
