IEEE TryEngineering launches new STEM book series for children aged 8 to 12
IEEE TryEngineering has released a new collection of books titled Tomorrow’s Technology With TryEngineering, Powered by IEEE. Developed with Lerner Publishing Group, the series aims to introduce young learners to complex scientific and engineering concepts through approachable explanations and design challenges.
According to IEEE Spectrum, the series is designed for children between the ages of 8 and 12. The collection is built upon existing digital content, such as videos and ebooks, found at tryengineering.org. To develop the books, TryEngineering collaborated with several IEEE entities, including the Transportation Electrification Council and the societies for Computer, Communications, and Oceanic Engineering.
The initial collection features six distinct topics. These include books on artificial intelligence, covering issues like deepfakes and privacy; communication technology, ranging from Morse code to 6G; and electric vehicles, including e-bikes and electrified trains. Other titles explore ocean engineering, semiconductors, and signal processing. The series is available through retailers such as Amazon, Bookshop, and Lerner.
