SteelSeries launches lightweight wireless gaming mice with swappable battery technology
SteelSeries has introduced the new Rival Pro and Sensei Pro wireless gaming mice. These lightweight peripherals feature ultra-wideband connectivity and a unique system of circular, swappable batteries that can be charged via a dedicated wireless base station.
According to The Verge, the new ergonomic Rival Pro and ambidextrous Sensei Pro models are designed to be exceptionally light. The black versions of each mouse weigh 53 grams, while the white versions weigh 54 grams. The hardware includes a wireless base station that allows users to pair their devices and maintain a charged spare battery.
The battery system utilizes circular cells that lock into both the mice and the base station. The Verge reports that each battery provides 16 hours of use at an 8,000 Hz polling rate. This swappable design is a feature previously seen in other SteelSeries product lines.
