Questions people ask
How does it work?
Swipe up for the next card: a short story you can read in under a minute. Swipe left, or open a card's page, for the longer explanation, its sources and related reads. "Follow the rabbit hole" takes you deeper into a subject, or sideways into a connected one. Video cards play talks and explainers from hand-picked educational channels.
What can I learn?
19 subjects: Science, Space, Health, Wealth & Business, Technology, Art, Ideas & Philosophy, History, Nature, Design, Music, Gardening, Sport & Games, Society, Countries & Cities, Food & Drink, Cultures, Wars & Conflicts, Entertainment. Cards are short introductions: a starting point for curiosity, not a replacement for in-depth study.
Who makes it?
Intellect Plus is made by Vaitly Limited in the United Kingdom. It is an educational knowledge and daily-learning app, and isn't connected with other products or services that use the name "Intellect".
Who is it for?
Curious people, teenagers and adults, who would rather spend a spare minute learning something than scrolling past it. The App Store rates it 13+ and Google Play PEGI 3. Parents can read the facts for families.
Where do the facts come from?
Every card names its source and licence and links to the original, from encyclopaedias and museum collections to open-access research. Cards are prepared partly with automated tools, including AI, and pass automated checks; they are not individually reviewed by a person before publication. Our editorial standards explain how cards are prepared, checked and corrected.
What are the brain challenges?
Original puzzles in maths, logic, patterns, words, spelling, memory, attention and estimation, with every answer explained. They appear now and then as you read, or you can play them in Challenges. Intellect IQ reflects your performance on these challenges; it isn't a clinical or standardised IQ test.
How is it different from a search engine?
A search engine is for when you know what you want to ask. Intellect Plus is for when you don't: it brings you the next card, and each card links to its sources and to related reads. To look up something particular, a search engine or the original source will serve you better.
Is it free?
Yes. Reading, the challenges and a free account cost nothing. There is no paid plan and there are no in-app purchases. Reading needs no account. Now and then the feed shows a card from an advertiser, always marked "Sponsored".
Where can I use Intellect Plus?
On the App Store (iPhone and iPad), on Google Play (Android), and on the web at intellectplus.co.uk. Videos and short films are on YouTube.
