Where the line between word and image begins to blur
In short: Explore how poets and visual artists collapse the boundaries of their respective mediums. This curation examines the intersection of language and sight, showcasing how contemporary creators navigate the space between two distinct forms of expression.
Curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Lemn Sissay, 'Poet Slash Artist' features over 20 artists who bridge the gap between literature and visual art. Various contributors such as Renee Gladman, Friederike Mayröcker, Precious Okoyoman, Etel Adnan, Xu Bing, Imtiaz Dharker and Tracey Emin are showcased within this display.
The collection serves as a study of how cultures, continents, languages, and generations converge in an era where words and images circulate more rapidly than ever before. It invites viewers to consider the shared DNA of poetry and visual art in a modern context.
