In short: When Babe and Kenzie created the game Sky Whale for a class assignment, they never expected it to become a viral sensation. This accidental success launched their own gaming company, Game Shakers, leading to an unlikely partnership with a billionaire rapper and a chaotic life of professional app development.

Created by Dan Schneider, Game Shakers debuted on Nickelodeon on September 12, 2015. The premise centers on two twelve-year-old girls, Babe Carano and Kenzie Bell, who reside in Brooklyn. After their school science project, Sky Whale, achieves massive popularity, they establish their own firm. The business quickly expands to include their friend Hudson and a new consultant, Triple G, the son of the eccentric billionaire rapper Double G.

The show explores the dynamic between these young entrepreneurs and their high-profile investor. Double G, whose real name is Gale J. Griffin, becomes involved with the company after the girls use his song, Drop Dat What, in their game without permission. This legal compromise forces a unique collaboration, blending the girls' technical ingenuity with the rapper's impulsive, high-stakes lifestyle. The cast features Cree Cicchino as the fearless Babe, Madisyn Shipman as the blunt but brilliant Kenzie, and Kel Mitchell as the unpredictable Double G.

Over its three-season run, which concluded on June 8, 2019, the series integrated real-world engagement by releasing the games designed by the characters online and through the Nick app. Titles such as Dirty Blob, Tiny Pickles, and Llama Llama Spit Spit mirrored the show's episode names, bridging the gap between fiction and reality. While the characters navigate school life at Sugar Hill Junior High under the watch of their teacher, Mr. Sammich, they simultaneously manage the pressures of running a legitimate gaming studio.

The production saw significant milestones, including a series order in early 2015 and a cast announcement on July 7, 2015. Despite its popularity and international reach, reaching audiences in Canada, the UK, and Australia, Nickelodeon announced the show's cancellation on March 26, 2018. The final season aired in 2019, marking the end of the journey for the Brooklyn-based team that started with a simple school project.
