In short: Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn followed the chaotic lives of nine-year-old quadruplets who shared little beyond their birth date. While they frequently clashed over leadership and personality differences, the Harper siblings were forced to cooperate to survive the everyday hurdles of childhood, anchored by their eccentric, possession-loving father and supportive mother.

Created by Matt Fleckenstein and developed by Michael Feldman, the series premiered on September 13, 2014, and ran for four seasons totaling 82 episodes. The show centered on the Harper quadruplets: Dawn, the eldest and self-appointed leader; Ricky, the academic neat freak; Dicky, the easy-going fashion enthusiast; and Nicky, the quirky, talented chef. Despite their distinct personalities, the siblings were constantly at odds, particularly in the ongoing power struggle between Dawn and Ricky.

The family dynamic was further complicated by their parents, Tom and Anne. Tom, played by Brian Stepanek, was characterized by a running gag where he prioritized his personal belongings over his children, though he remained a devoted, kid-at-heart father. Allison Munn portrayed Anne, who often found herself swept up in her husband's latest obsessions. Supporting characters, such as the quads' friend Mae—who jokingly referred to herself as the fifth quad—and various babysitters, added layers to the domestic comedy.

Production of the show saw several shifts throughout its run. Originally ordered as a 13-episode series in March 2014, it was quickly expanded to 20 episodes. By the third season, Matt Fleckenstein stepped down as showrunner, and the episode count for that season was eventually increased to 24. The series concluded its run on August 4, 2018, following the announcement in late 2017 that the fourth season would be the final chapter. Notably, actor Mace Coronel, who played Dicky, departed the production shortly before the series finale.
