How to make a rich, caramel-infused hot chocolate
In short: This video demonstrates a festive method for preparing hot chocolate by caramelising sugar before adding milk and chocolate for a deeper flavor profile.
The recipe begins by caramelising 45 mL of white sugar over medium heat in a medium pot. Once the sugar has caramelised and cooled slightly, 500 mL of milk or a milk and cream combination is added and heated. The process concludes by whisking in 150g of dark chocolate, or a preferred alternative, once the caramel has dissolved into the warm milk.
