From Algae to Sealed Rock: How Crude Oil Forms

From Algae to Sealed Rock: How Crude Oil Forms · 2:04 · Intellect Plus

In short: Algae, bacteria and the organisms that feed on algae supply most of crude oil's organic matter. Buried and gently heated in the oil window, it becomes crude oil, which migrates until a low-permeability seal holds it.

A 2:04 short film in the series “How Things Work”, narrated by intellect_voice_01.
