How a decade-long mission aims to restore the world's vital ecosystems
In short: Sir David Attenborough introduces Kew Gardens' Breathing Planet Programme, a ten-year initiative designed to protect the plants and fungi essential to all life on Earth.
The programme focuses on a decade of action to rescue, revive, and restore species that sustain our planet. As a pioneer of modern scientific botany, Kew Gardens houses approximately 90% of all known plant species, placing the institution at the front lines of global conservation efforts.
By understanding and protecting these biological foundations, the initiative seeks to help the Earth's ecosystems recover and ensure a more secure future for all living things.
