In short: In 1942, the survival of Malta depended on a single, desperate supply run. This video recounts the epic journey of the SS Ohio and its vital role in Operation Pedestal.

During the 1942 siege, the Allies faced the critical challenge of delivering fuel and supplies to Malta to prevent total loss. As part of convoy WS21S, known as Operation Pedestal, the tanker SS Ohio attempted this perilous Mediterranean crossing.

The voyage was marked by intense German and Italian attacks that left the ship's engines failed and its back broken. Despite this severe damage, the vessel, supported by Royal Navy destroyers, managed to reach the island.
