The radical preservation of ancient faith in modern Argentina
In short: Explore the secretive world of Argentine Mennonite colonies. This documentary offers rare access to a community that actively resists 21st-century life to preserve their strict religious roots.
The film examines how these descendants of an ancient religious society have established communities across four continents while remaining largely hidden from the modern world. It focuses specifically on the Argentine colonies, described as some of the most extreme and secretive branches of the Mennonite faith.
By traveling from traditional German villages to the plains of South America, the documentary captures the tension between these radical values and the encroaching outside world. It highlights their struggle to maintain a lifestyle that feels trapped in time against the pressures of contemporary society.
