The 2026 tennis season spans 29 countries and features a massive global tour calendar
In short: Professional tennis in 2026 is defined by a massive, interconnected global schedule. With the ATP and WTA tours operating across dozens of countries, the sport is pushing for expanded fan engagement and elevated tournament formats, including a significant number of events featuring an enhanced 12-day structure for top-tier competitions.
The 2026 ATP Tour calendar is built around a strategy known as OneVision, designed to accelerate growth and improve the experience for fans worldwide. The men’s circuit includes nine Masters 1000 tournaments, seven of which utilize an expanded 12-day format. Beyond these, the season comprises 16 ATP 500 events and 29 ATP 250 tournaments, alongside the four traditional Grand Slam events. The year concludes with the sixth edition of the Nitto ATP Finals in Italy and the Next Gen ATP Finals.
Simultaneously, the WTA Tour is running a schedule that includes 10 WTA 1000 tournaments, seven of which also offer the 12-day format. The women’s circuit features 17 WTA 500 events and 22 WTA 250 tournaments. A major highlight for the women’s game is the third edition of the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The WTA reports a global audience of 1 billion people, with over 4 million fans attending events in person annually, underscoring the sport's massive reach.
Team competitions remain a cornerstone of the 2026 calendar, bridging the gap between individual tours. The United Cup, a mixed-team event held in partnership with Tennis Australia, enters its fourth staging. Other key team fixtures include the Laver Cup and the Davis Cup. The WTA continues to emphasize its commitment to equality, maintaining its focus on equal prize money and supporting athletes through initiatives like the PIF Maternity Fund and fertility protection measures, as noted by WTA CEO Portia Archer.
