From seizing power to democratic leadership: Julius Maada Bio’s journey
In short: Explore the political evolution of Julius Maada Bio, from his 1996 takeover to his return as a democratically elected president, and his mission to empower Sierra Leone's youth.
After initially taking political power in Sierra Leone in 1996, Julius Maada Bio transitioned from a military leader to a democratic president. Following his initial period in power, he arranged an election, voluntarily relinquished control, and departed from the continent.
