How to transform your mouth into a feline feature
In short: Creating a convincing cat look requires more than just whiskers. It is about structural manipulation. By using specific shapes and strategic shading, you can reshape your lips and chin to mimic the pointed, predatory anatomy of a cat.
The foundation of a feline mouth rests on altering the perceived shape of the lips and chin. Using a bright white cake makeup, such as the Kryolan aqua color palette, the process begins by filling in the area around the mouth. To achieve a convincing look, the shape should be rounded at the lip but taper down into a diamond shape on the chin, providing that characteristic pointed feline appearance.
Definition is achieved through layering shadows and highlights. Once the white base is set, use a grey base color to cover the edges of the shape, applying it in streaking motions to simulate fur. This grey should also be applied to the corners of the mouth. To make the features truly pop, a black pressed shadow can be used to contour the area, adding depth and dimension to the transformation.
The final anatomical detail involves connecting the nose to the upper lip. Using black cake makeup, draw a very thin line from the nose to the upper lip, then curve the end to create a rounded 'W' shape. The inside of the upper lip should then be filled with black cream and curved outward. To finish, use a brush to apply small, spontaneous dots and long, skinny streaks for whiskers. If the whiskers appear too thick, a touch of white base makeup can be used to refine and thin them out.
