The high price of corporate science: a literal body-part bonus
In short: This video explores a bizarre corporate offer within the world of Portal 2. It highlights the unsettling logic of a company that views human subjects as modular components to be disassembled and reassembled for profit.
The narrative presents a chilling 'bonus opportunity' where subjects can earn an additional $60 by allowing the company to perform a complete disassembly. The corporation claims they can take a person apart, install 'science stuff,' and put them back together 'good as new.'
The dialogue emphasizes a sense of industrial efficiency, dismissing the complexity of the procedure by stating they aren't 'banging rocks together' and possess the expertise to restore 'new vitals' and 'spit shine' the original ones. It frames the invasive procedure—which includes scooping out tumors—as a service the subject should actually be paying for.
