Camp Snap releases a smaller digital camcorder designed for children
In short: The technology company Camp Snap has launched the CS-8 Mini, a compact version of its retro-style video camera. Released on November 5, 2026, the device is designed specifically for smaller hands while maintaining the aesthetic of vintage film cameras.
The CS-8 Mini is less than half the size of the original CS-8 model. While the larger camera is capable of capturing 4K video, the Mini uses a 1/2.7-inch sensor that limits its resolution to 2.7K. Despite the lower specifications, the device retains the screen-free design and the retro look inspired by Kodak and Canon Super 8mm film cameras from previous decades.
According to The Verge, the new model features a smaller grip to improve ergonomics for children. It is currently available in four colors—blue, orange, pink, and green—through Target and the company's own online store.
