From South London to Global Stages: The Rapid Rise of Singer-Songwriter Absolutely
In short: Born into a musical household in Tooting, Abby-Lynn Keen—professionally known as Absolutely—has transitioned from viral social media personality to a formidable force in pop, R&B, and EDM. With two studio albums released by early 2026 and a prolific songwriting career, she is carving a distinct path in the industry.
Abby-Lynn Keen, born on 3 January 2004, grew up in a family deeply immersed in music. Her father is the musician and producer Paul Keen, and her older sisters are also established artists: Rachel, who performs as Raye, and Lauren, known as Amma. Keen began her own creative journey around the age of 12 or 13, eventually finding early attention through viral lifestyle videos on social media during her teenage years.
Her professional trajectory shifted significantly after moving to Los Angeles. Initially releasing music independently under the alias àB in 2019, she rebranded as Absolutely in 2023. This pivot coincided with the release of her debut major-label album, Cerebrum, which was executive produced by Dave Hamelin. Critics have praised her sound for its unique blend of textures, with writer Steffanee Wang highlighting her ability to combine a strong melodic foundation with discordant synths and rock-influenced guitar work.
Beyond her solo work, Keen has established herself as a sought-after songwriter, contributing to projects for artists including Jesy Nelson, Teddy Swims, Giveon, Normani, Anitta, and Leigh-Anne. Her second studio album, Paracosm, arrived on 20 February 2026, featuring production from industry veterans like Danja and Jahaan Sweet. As her profile grows, she has increasingly taken to the road, supporting her sister Raye on tour and securing opening slots for artists like Reneé Rapp, while also performing at major events such as the All Points East festival in London.
