In short: Born into a legacy of Indian cricket, Angad Bedi traded the sports field for the spotlight. While his father is a legendary captain, Bedi carved out a distinct identity as a versatile actor, navigating reality TV, high-profile biopics, and major Bollywood productions over two decades.

Bedi's trajectory in the public eye began long before his first film role. Born in 1983 to former Indian cricket captain Bishan Singh Bedi, he initially followed a similar path, playing cricket up to the Under-19 level for Delhi. However, his transition to the arts began in academia and modeling, following his graduation from St. Stephen's College, Delhi. He eventually made his cinematic debut in 2004 with Kaya Taran, a film noted for its heavy historical context involving the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and the 2002 Gujarat riots.

His performance in this maiden project earned critical appreciation and was part of a production that won the Aravindan Puraskaram. His career is defined by a diverse range of media formats. Beyond traditional cinema, Bedi established a presence in television as a host for shows like Cook Na Kaho and Extraaa Innings T20, and as a contestant on reality programs like Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi.

This versatility paved the way for significant roles in mainstream Bollywood hits such as Pink (2016) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). He has also demonstrated a penchant for biographical storytelling, portraying the brother of subjects in both the biopic Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and the hockey biopic Soorma. Despite a steady professional rise, Bedi's public life has included moments of controversy. In 2012, he was arrested following an incident at a suburban Juhu hotel rave where he, along with 85 others, tested positive for cannabis and ecstasy. Since then, his personal life has remained a point of interest; he married Neha Dhupia in a private 2018 ceremony and has since become a father to two children. His career serves as a study in balancing a high-profile family legacy with the pursuit of individual artistic recognition.
