In short: El Internado: Laguna Negra is a Spanish mystery thriller where students at an isolated boarding school uncover a terrifying secret. What begins as a search for missing parents evolves into a fight for survival against the Gemini Project, a sinister organization with deep roots in the school's own history.

The series centers on siblings Marcos and Paula Novoa Pazos, who are sent to the Laguna Negra boarding school after their parents vanish at sea. Under the guardianship of director Héctor de la Vega, they and their fellow students soon realize the school is a dangerous place. Their investigation into strange disappearances and murders leads them to discover the Gemini Project, a clandestine group of Nazi founders who have been conducting unethical experiments on the premises for years.

As the students delve deeper, they uncover a web of betrayal and hidden identities. They find a secret meeting room beneath the hermitage adorned with a swastika, confirming the school's dark connections. The plot intensifies when a deadly virus is released within the school, leading to a military-enforced quarantine. The students must navigate the threat of the virus, the machinations of the Ottox company, and the realization that one of their own friends, Roque, has been acting as a traitor.

The narrative reaches a climax as the students fight to survive the quarantine and expose the truth. Key figures like Fermín de Pablo, who investigates his father's murder, and characters like Rebeca Benarroch play pivotal roles in dismantling the conspiracy. By the final chapter, the students manage to secure a cure, confront the remaining Nazi founders, and finally escape the boarding school. The legacy of their ordeal is later documented in a book written by survivors Iván and Julia, serving as a testament to the horrors they endured at Laguna Negra.
