In short: Henry Hart is an ordinary 13-year-old until he lands a part-time job as Kid Danger, the sidekick to the indestructible Captain Man. Balancing high school with saving the world, Henry must keep his secret identity hidden from his friends and family while navigating the high-tech dangers of the Man Cave.

Created by Dan Schneider and Dana Olsen, Henry Danger premiered on Nickelodeon in July 2014. The premise centers on Henry, who is recruited by Ray Manchester, also known as Captain Man. Ray gained his invulnerability decades earlier after a laboratory accident involving his father’s Trans-Molecular Densitizer. Operating from a secret lair beneath a shop called Junk 'n' Stuff, the duo relies on gadgets and the technical expertise of their associate, Schwoz, to fight crime in the town of Swellview.

The series evolved significantly over its five-season run, which concluded in March 2020 with a total of 128 episodes. What began as a simple premise expanded into a complex social dynamic. Henry’s friends, Charlotte and Jasper, eventually discovered his secret, with Charlotte becoming the team's manager and Jasper joining the business. The show’s tone was often described as a retro-style superhero comedy, a choice that drew mixed critical reception for its formulaic approach compared to contemporary blockbuster superhero films.

Beyond the original series, the franchise spawned what is known as the 'Dangerverse.' This includes the animated series The Adventures of Kid Danger, the spinoff Danger Force, and a feature film released in 2025. The transition from a single comedy series to a multi-platform franchise highlights the enduring appeal of the characters, with original cast members like Jace Norman and Cooper Barnes continuing to shape the narrative through executive production roles and reprised performances long after the initial series finale.
