In short: Jubin Nautiyal’s rise in the Indian music industry is a masterclass in building a foundation before seeking the spotlight. By mastering classical music and local performance before hitting the national stage, he transformed from a reality show participant into a powerhouse of modern playback singing.

Born in Dehradun in 1989, Nautiyal’s musical journey began with a deep influence from his father, a singer, and a formal education in classical music at Welham Boys' School. This academic grounding allowed him to develop proficiency in multiple instruments, including the guitar, piano, harmonium, and drums. Before entering the mainstream industry, he spent years establishing a reputation in his hometown, performing live events and engaging in charitable work by the age of 18. He was born into the Sarola Nautiyal family, which has roots in the Mahasu region. His parents, Ram Sharan and Neena Nautiyal, are both involved in the business sector.

His professional trajectory took a significant turn in 2011 when he participated in the music reality show X Factor, reaching the top 25. The track "Ek Mulakat" from the movie Sonali Cable marked his first commercial release in 2014. Since then, his career has been defined by strategic collaborations with major composers like Mithoon, Sachin–Jigar, and Amit Trivedi, as well as a high-profile signing with the music giant T-Series. He expanded his reach beyond Hindi music by debuting in Telugu and Bengali cinema. His work also includes various devotional tracks, such as a 2025 song for Lord Shiva.

Nautiyal’s commercial breakthrough solidified in 2019 with chartbusters like "Tujhe Kitna Chahein Aur Hum" from Kabir Singh. His ability to generate massive digital engagement reached a peak in 2021, when his song "Lut Gaye" surpassed 915 million views on YouTube. This momentum continued with "Bedardi Se Pyaar Ka," which garnered 55 million views in just 13 days, cementing his status as a leading voice in contemporary Indian playback music. His success earned him several accolades, including an IIFA award in 2022. He also received honors at the Mirchi Music Awards and the Zee Business Awards.
