In short: In this 2013 South Korean romantic comedy, a gloomy woman gains the ability to see spirits after a mysterious accident. She discovers that her supernatural tormentors vanish whenever she touches a cold, money-driven CEO. Their unlikely partnership begins as a desperate bargain to recover a massive, stolen fortune.

Master's Sun, which aired for 17 episodes in 2013, centers on the intersection of the supernatural and the corporate. Tae Gong-shil, once a bright individual, becomes an isolated insomniac after an accident grants her the ability to see ghosts. These spirits, ranging from the vengeful to the sorrowful, haunt her daily. Her life shifts when she encounters Joo Joong-won, the haughty and dyslexic CEO of the Kingdom Group. Joong-won is a man who assigns a monetary value to every interaction, shaped by the trauma of a childhood kidnapping.

The central mechanism of the series is a physical anomaly: when Gong-shil makes contact with Joong-won, the ghosts surrounding her disappear. Recognizing an opportunity, Joong-won keeps her close, intending to use her connection to the spirit world to locate a ₩10 billion ransom—a diamond necklace stolen during his own kidnapping. As the statute of limitations on the case nears its end, the pair navigates a complex web of secrets, including the truth about Joong-won's former girlfriend, Hee-joo, and her twin sister, Hanna.

Beyond the central mystery, the series explores the lives of various spirits, from a ghost seeking a final kiss to a soldier's loyal dog. These encounters often serve as catalysts for character growth, forcing the self-centered Joong-won to reconsider his priorities. While the show is structured as a romantic comedy, it delves into themes of grief, forgiveness, and the idea that some connections—like the rare, noble love symbolized by green roses—transcend the boundary between the living and the dead.
