In short: In the South Korean series My Name, a grieving woman joins a powerful drug syndicate to hunt her father's killer. To succeed, she adopts a new identity and infiltrates the police force as a mole. It is a high-stakes game of deception where loyalty is tested and revenge consumes everything.

The narrative centers on Yoon Ji-woo, a woman driven by the sudden murder of her father, Yoon Dong-hoon. Seeking retribution, she aligns herself with Choi Mu-jin, the leader of Dongcheon, which is recognized as the largest drug ring in Korea. Mu-jin, who was once the best friend of Ji-woo's father, decides to trust her, driven by the sheer intensity of her desperation. Under his guidance, Ji-woo assumes the fake identity of Oh Hye-jin and successfully infiltrates the Inchang Metropolitan Police Station, specifically joining the drug investigation unit.

Within the police force, Ji-woo is paired with Detective Jeon Pil-do. Their working relationship begins with significant friction, as Ji-woo inadvertently sabotages a sting operation that Pil-do had spent six months meticulously planning. The tension is further complicated by the presence of the unit's leader, who is personally committed to dismantling Dongcheon before his impending retirement. As Ji-woo navigates this dual existence, she faces threats from both sides of the law, including a vengeful former gang member who seeks retribution after being expelled from Dongcheon for his predatory behavior toward her.

Directed by Kim Jin-min and written by Kim Ba-da, the eight-episode series was produced by Studio Santa Claus Entertainment Co., Ltd. Production took place between November 2020 and February 2021. The series premiered on Netflix on October 15, 2021, following a special screening of its first three episodes at the 26th Busan International Film Festival. The project features a reunion of sorts for several cast members, including Han So-hee and Lee Hak-joo, who previously appeared together in the 2020 drama The World of the Married. Critics have responded favorably to the series, with all seven reviews tracked by Rotten Tomatoes offering positive assessments of the show's intense action and narrative drive.
