The 2019 television series Touch Your Heart follows the journey of Oh Jin-shim, a famous actress who adopts the stage name Oh Yoon-seo. Desperate to secure a role in a prestigious writer's upcoming project, she agrees to a unique condition: gaining real-world legal experience by working as a secretary for the elite lawyer Kwon Jung-rok.
Kwon Jung-rok is portrayed as a man entirely defined by his profession. He is a workaholic who prioritizes his firm's reputation and maintains a perfect winning record in court. The dynamic between the two characters serves as the narrative engine of the show, as the actress attempts to navigate the mundane, rigorous environment of a law office while the lawyer struggles to manage an assistant who is entirely unsuited for the role.
The series, which ran from early February through late March 2019, is based on a web novel originally published on KakaoPage in 2016. The production reunited lead actors Yoo In-na and Lee Dong-wook, who had previously appeared together in the 2016 series Guardian: The Lonely and Great God. While the role of the male lead was initially offered to Jung Kyung-ho, the final casting solidified the chemistry that drives the show's exploration of professional growth and romance.
Beyond the central duo, the story populates the Always Law Firm with a diverse cast, including a divorce lawyer, a straightforward civil defense attorney, and a paralegal who is a former detective. These supporting characters provide a backdrop for the central romance, which develops as the actress and the lawyer move past their initial professional friction to form a deeper connection.
