How a professional garden designer brings Chelsea Flower Show inspiration into her own home
In short: Garden designer Ann-Marie Powell invites us into her Hampshire garden to showcase how she integrates plants from her past Chelsea Flower Show designs into her personal space. This tour highlights how professional horticultural techniques can foster health, happiness, and wellbeing in a residential setting.
Ann-Marie Powell’s garden serves as a living portfolio of her professional career. Her front garden incorporates specific planting schemes from her 2016 Chelsea show design, intended to evoke joy for those passing by. Meanwhile, her back garden features trees originally used in her 1997 design, supplemented by new plantings added during the lockdown period.
This tour is presented through the Royal Horticultural Society, a charity established in 1804 with the mission to promote excellence in the science and practice of horticulture. The RHS operates on four guiding principles: to inspire, involve, inform, and improve.
