This facility acts as a 'Noah’s Ark' for plant life, storing seeds to ensure species remain available for future generations.
Kew’s broader scientific work involves managing the world's largest and most diverse botanical and mycological collections, containing over 8.5 million items. By safeguarding these specimens, the institution aims to develop nature-based solutions to global challenges like the climate crisis.
