In short: Renowned designer Piet Oudolf has overhauled his original landscape at RHS Wisley. This video documents the transformation of nearly two acres into a sweeping matrix of perennials and grasses, replacing older linear borders with a new design that emphasizes his signature New Perennial style.

Twenty years after his initial design, Piet Oudolf has redesigned the Glasshouse Landscape at RHS Wisley. The project covers just under two acres and features meandering paths designed to guide visitors through bold drifts of herbaceous perennials, grasses, and woody plants. While the layout is new, the project maintains the familiar views of the Wisley Glasshouse.

The redevelopment involved planting approximately 36,000 plants in preparation for the site's opening on 15 May 2024. This shift moves away from the previous linear, shrub-heavy approach toward a more fluid, matrix-based aesthetic characteristic of Oudolf's work.
