How the South Korean quartet Everglow reinvented itself after leaving its original agency
In short: Known as the ultimate performance boss, Everglow has navigated industry shifts and lineup changes to maintain its global presence. From their 2019 debut to their transition into a quartet under Chxxta Company, the group has consistently balanced high-energy synth-pop with a powerful girl crush image that resonates across international borders.
Everglow first emerged in early 2019, quickly earning the moniker monster rookies due to their immediate impact on the K-pop scene. Their early releases, including the debut single Bon Bon Chocolat and the subsequent tracks Adios and Dun Dun, secured high positions on the U.S. World Digital Song Sales chart. This early success was bolstered by a distinct EDM-trap sound and an empowering aesthetic that Billboard noted was particularly effective at connecting with Western audiences.
The group's trajectory has been marked by significant milestones and adaptability. In 2021, they partnered with UNICEF for the Promise campaign, incentivizing fan engagement through a dance challenge that provided medical supplies to children globally. By 2022, they were breaking new ground for girl groups, performing in Saudi Arabia and holding the first solo K-pop concert in Kazakhstan. These achievements occurred alongside internal adjustments, including shifts in leadership from E:U to Sihyeon and temporary hiatuses for various members due to health or personal reasons.
A major turning point occurred in 2025 when the members departed their original label, YH Entertainment, upon the expiration of their contracts. By September of that year, Sihyeon, E:U, Onda, and Aisha had regrouped under the new agency Chxxta Company. Now operating as a quartet, the group continues to produce music, with their fourth extended play, Code, scheduled for release in early 2026. This evolution reflects the group's resilience, maintaining their identity as a performance-focused act despite the departure of former members Mia and Yiren.
