His experience expanded through roles with the England U18s and as a football advisor for UEFA, building a diverse tactical portfolio. He also worked with the England U18s. Additionally, he acted as a football advisor for UEFA.
His breakthrough into senior management arrived with Lincoln City in November 2023. After a period of significant success—including winning the EFL League One Manager of the Season for 2025–26 and securing the league title—Skubala's ascent continued. Following a highly successful stint that saw Lincoln City promoted to the Championship, he was appointed manager of Bristol City on 29 May 2026, with a contract running until 2029. He achieved multiple Manager of the Month awards during his tenure. This success culminated in a championship promotion.
