Beyond the battlefield: the forgotten history of improvised armored vehicles
In short: While standard tanks dominate modern warfare, a different class of vehicle played a vital role. This film examines the origins of improvised armoured combat vehicles, constructed from nothing or adapted from regular cars, lorries, and tractors.
The history of these improvised machines is often overlooked in traditional military studies. These vehicles were not purpose-built for combat but were instead created through the creative modification of civilian machinery. By repurposing common items like tractors and trucks, soldiers could field unique armored fighting vehicles that were essential to their specific operational needs.
