The recurring cycle of life's greatest collapses and rebirths
In short: This documentary explores the five mass extinctions that reshaped our planet. It uses high-end visual effects to show how cataclysmic events wiped out dominant species while paving the way for new biological eras.
The film, titled Prehistoric Worlds and directed by Alexis de Favitski, examines the mechanics of ancient cataclysms that decimated most life forms on Earth. By visualizing these prehistoric journeys, the production highlights how survival in the face of global collapse allows a few remaining species to eventually create entirely new worlds.
The narrative serves as a reflection on humanity's current position in history as we approach what may be a sixth mass extinction.
