In short: This video documents a 2015 expedition through Georgia and Armenia. Led by an expert researcher, the journey highlights the complex cultural and linguistic history of this unique geographic area.
The tour, which took place from May 15 to May 30, 2015, was guided by Dr. Tasha Vorderstrasse, a research associate who earned her master's degree in 1998 and her doctorate in 2004. Participants explored the archaeology and cultural heritage of the South Caucasus, a region characterized by its significant diversity in languages, peoples, and historical traditions.
Organized as a collaborative effort between the University of Chicago and its alumni association, the program provided an immersive look at the contrasts defining the region. By examining the landscape and historical sites, the trip offered a comprehensive overview of the area's development.
