The Amazon was never a pristine wilderness, but a landscape shaped by human hands.
In short: New archaeological evidence challenges the long-held belief that the Amazon was an untouched primeval forest. This documentary explores the remnants of complex civilizations that once thrived in the region, supported by advanced agriculture and large-scale infrastructure.
Recent findings reveal that the Amazon was home to dense settlements that likely supported populations in the millions. These ancient societies constructed massive geometric earthworks and extensive roadway networks, suggesting sophisticated social structures and religious practices that persisted for centuries.
These discoveries fundamentally shift our understanding of the Amazon, proving it has been actively managed and transformed by human activity for millennia rather than existing as a wild, uninhabited expanse.
