Why the future of honey bee survival might be found in our cities
In short: While honey bees are mysteriously vanishing from rural landscapes, they appear to be thriving in urban settings. This video explores how urban beekeeping could help revitalize both our cities and this vital species.
Noah Wilson-Rich discusses the grave implications for agriculture caused by the rapid disappearance of bees from rural areas. He suggests that because bees seem to flourish in urban environments, urban beekeeping could play a significant role in the revitalization of both the species and the cities themselves.
The presentation, filmed at TEDxBoston, highlights the importance of maintaining the co-evolved relationship between humans and bees.
