Bridging the gap between grassroots reporting and global headlines
In short: Local journalism often captures the most vital stories, yet these reports frequently fail to reach a global audience. Gangadhar Patil explains how he is creating a pipeline to ensure community-level reporting finds its way into the international spotlight.
Journalists on the front lines often produce significant work that remains isolated due to a lack of visibility. Patil's initiative connects grassroots reporters in India with major international news outlets. By facilitating these connections, the project aims to elevate stories that would otherwise remain overlooked by the mainstream media.
This work matters because it addresses the imbalance in news distribution, ensuring that local perspectives and urgent community issues can influence national and international discourse.
