In short: Environmental activist Kristine McDivitt Tompkins explains why we must rewild the world to ensure a shared future. She shares how her work in South America is restoring biodiversity and creating national parks to heal our interconnected planet.

The video explores the concept of rewilding as a means to restore health to both humanity and nature. Kristine McDivitt Tompkins, the former CEO of Patagonia, Inc. and co-founder of Tompkins Conservation, discusses her efforts to protect biodiversity by establishing national parks and fostering regenerative economies.

Alongside her late husband, Douglas Tompkins, she helped protect over 15 million acres of parkland across Chile and Argentina. By launching Rewilding Argentina and Rewilding Chile, her group established or enlarged 15 national parks, encompassing two marine parks, whilst striving to bring back extinct or endangered species like the giant river otters, red-and-green macaw, and jaguar.
