Why the tilt of our planet creates the seasons
In short: This video explains how Earth's tilt and its revolution around the sun drive the changing seasons. You will learn why hemispheres experience opposite weather patterns throughout the year.
As the planet orbits, the orientation of each hemisphere relative to the sun changes.
When a hemisphere is tilted toward the sun, it experiences summer. Conversely, when a hemisphere is tilted away from the sun, it experiences winter. Because of this geometry, the two hemispheres always undergo opposite seasons.
