The intersection of Irish folk-rock and Italian lutherie
In short: Watch Glen Hansard perform an acoustic solo in one of New York's most storied architectural spaces. This highlights the connection between contemporary performance and the historical craftsmanship of legendary guitar makers.
On May 26, musician Glen Hansard performed at The Met to celebrate 'Guitar Heroes: Legendary Craftsmen from Italy to New York.' Known for his work with The Frames and The Swell Season—the latter of which won an Oscar for the song 'Falling Slowly'—Hansard provided a live bridge between modern songwriting and historical artistry.
The event took place in the Temple of Dendur within The Sackler Wing. To commemorate the evening, Hero Design produced a limited-edition print, with twenty-five copies distributed during the reception.
