How a generation of young thinkers proposed a beef tax
In short: In September 2011, the Ri Unconference brought together young delegates to tackle the defining challenges of their era, from the climate crisis to the future of science education.
The event featured insights from specialists including space scientist Maggie Aderin-Pocock, environmentalist Hugh Montgomery, science teacher Alom Shaha, and science publicist Sallie Robins. Through workshops and breakout sessions, participants developed concrete recommendations for policymakers, such as implementing a beef tax and increasing the difficulty of science GCSEs.
