What would our cities and offices look like if designed specifically for women?
In short: Design consultant Virginia Santy explores how modern environments often fail women. By rethinking workspace design to prioritize female needs, she reveals how intentional planning can boost productivity and collaboration, prompting a broader inquiry into how we might reshape our world.
In her 2022 presentation, Virginia Santy details an experiment in which she developed an office space tailored to women. This project aimed to address the persistent, often subtle ways that contemporary workplaces and urban environments remain ill-suited for them.
The outcomes of this design shift were significant, resulting in increased productivity and enhanced collaboration. By creating an environment where women felt truly valued, Santy demonstrates that inclusive design is not just a matter of equity, but a catalyst for better performance and professional connection.
