Why a leopard cub's playtime is actually a survival rehearsal
In short: Watch how a leopard mother in Botswana teaches her two cubs the essential skills of survival. In a landscape filled with fierce competitors, play is the primary classroom for mastering the hunt.
In the wilds of Botswana, leopard cubs must navigate a high-stakes environment populated by predators like lions, wild dogs, and hyenas. To secure enough food to survive, the cubs must develop specialized skills, specifically learning how to fish.
The video captures the intimate process of these cubs practicing their hunting techniques through play. By interacting with their prey in a low-risk setting, they build the muscle memory and coordination necessary to transition from play to successful hunting in the wild.
