Surviving the Antarctic winter: the epic journey of an emperor penguin chick
In short: Witness the life story of a single emperor penguin, from hatching to his first journey to the sea. This film captures the intense struggle to survive one of the coldest environments on Earth.
The film follows a fluffy chick as he navigates the brutal Antarctic winter, enduring terrifying bluster and temperatures as low as minus 60 degrees Celsius. It documents the trials of early life, including his first steps on the ice, the danger of getting lost, and the necessity of socialising with other chicks.
Beyond the chick's perspective, the footage reveals the immense effort parents undertake to secure food while evading predators like leopard seals and giant petrels.
