Inside the private museum of a modern-day bone collector
In short: Go behind the scenes with Ben Garrod, a primatologist who transforms skeletal remains into museum-quality art. This video explores the meticulous and often gruesome process of cleaning and mounting bones.
While training for a PhD in primatology, Ben Garrod spends his time preparing and mounting hundreds of skeletons in his home. The footage reveals the painstaking work required to strip, clean, and recreate the natural forms of these specimens. Though his finished pieces are used in museums and schools, for Garrod, the process is a unique artform and a personal passion.
