The complex symphony of the British dawn chorus
In short: Identify the hidden voices in your own backyard. This montage explores the intricate layers of British birdsong, helping you distinguish individual species within a collective morning performance.
While many people hear the dawn chorus as a singular wall of sound, this BBC Earth compilation highlights the diversity of individual garden bird songs. It serves as an educational tool for those finding it difficult to separate specific melodies when birds sing in unison.
The presentation includes a variety of species, though it notes a geographical error where a North American goldfinch was depicted instead of its European counterpart.
