What happens when a bat takes the camera for a flight?
In short: Experience the world through the eyes of a fruit-loving flying fox. This footage uses discreet, on-board cameras to reveal the hidden behaviors of these large bats as they navigate their environment.
Wildlife cameraman Gordon Buchanan and his team use lightweight, discreet devices to capture ground-breaking behavior in various species. This specific footage offers a unique perspective on flying foxes, which possess wingspans exceeding 1 meter but weigh less than 1 kilogram.
Beyond providing a new way to understand animal behavior, these recordings serve a vital role in promoting the conservation of these creatures. The project is part of a broader effort to document the mysterious lives of diverse wildlife, from marine giants like sharks and orcas to terrestrial animals like Tasmanian devils.
