The footage, featured in the first episode of the documentary series Planet Earth III, shows South African fur seals (Arctocephalus pusillus) navigating jagged cliffs to reach nutrient-rich coastal waters. While these seals must risk their lives to feast on massive shoals of fish, they have recently developed a defensive behaviour to fend off one of the ocean's most fearsome predators.
