Unlocking the secrets of South America's nocturnal giants
In short: Most wildlife remains hidden by the veil of night, leaving much of our planet's biodiversity unstudied. This footage captures a rare glimpse into the life of the elusive giant anteater as it navigates its world in total darkness.
While humans often perceive darkness as a source of fear, it serves as a primary habitat for the majority of Earth's animals. Because these creatures are seldom filmed at night, researchers face significant challenges in documenting their natural behaviors.
The production follows wildlife experts into the jungles and swamps of South America to uncover mysteries that occur after sunset. By capturing previously unobserved actions—such as mysterious incisions in tree bark—the team provides a new perspective on how these animals survive and interact with their environment.
