How sailfish use tactical maneuvers to harvest bait fish
In short: Off the coast of Mexico, a massive shoal of sailfish demonstrates the precision required for survival. Watch how these predators force bait fish into vulnerable positions to secure a meal.
This footage from the BBC natural history documentary Planet Earth captures the essential mechanics of oceanic survival. By observing a massive shoal of sailfish, we see how these predators identify signs of potential prey to ensure their own survival.
The hunt relies on tactical positioning, where the sailfish drive schools of bait fish into specific arrangements that leave them exposed and unable to escape.
